  • A graduate in 10+2+3 pattern of Gauhati University or any other recognized university may be admitted to the B. Ed. course as per NCTE Norms. The intake capacity of the college is 100 and 20% seats are reserved for the students those who belong to outside of Assam. The admission criteria for general students is 50% of marks and 45% of marks for SC/ST/OBC.

  • The college issues admission form in the month of June for each academic year as per the notification of Gauhati University. The admission of the candidates is made strictly on the basis of merit and selection test. The academic session starts from the month of August.

This college has systematic provision enabling the students to see lesson being given by teachers of Special Competence and Experience. Each students shall do practice-teaching in the respective methods subjects under supervision for selected schools. The number of lesson shall in no case be less than 40. A candidates may present himself for the theoretical and the practical portions of the examination separately provided that the interval between the two does not exceed two years. it the interval exceed two years both the theoretical and practical portions of the examination shall be taken together.


In order to pass a candidates must obtain at least 40 percent aggregate in all the papers both theoretical and practical portions of the examination separately. There is a back system who fail only one paper in the final examination. If he/she can't clear the subject in immediately exceeding B.Ed examinations he/she shall have to appear all the subjects as non-collegiate students, as per provision of rule l2(B). Candidate obtaining 540 marks shall be declared to have obtain a first class and those who obtaining 360 marks shall be declared to have obtain a second class. If the candidates pass separately in both theoretical and practical examinations the Same of such candidates shall not be included in the class that arranged in order of merit.

The internal assessment of 200 marks shall be transferred to grade as shown below.

The College will have their own programmed of works experience and Co-Curricular activities. The assessments shall be jointly done by the external examiner appointed by the University with the help of internal from the College.

The external assessments of 100 marks shall be divided as follows-

  • 70 Marks

EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT OF TEACHING

(i). College affiliated for the B.Ed Examination shall make systematic provision for enabling the student to see lesson given by the teachers of special competence and experience. Criticism lessons be conducted with small groups of students. Each students shall do practice teaching in the subjects taken up by him under 2 (V and VI) above in the selected school under supervision. The number of lessons shall in no case be less than 40.

(ii). A candidate may present for the theoretical and the practical portions of the examination separately, provided that the interval between the two does not exceeds two years. If the interval exceeds two year, both the theoretical and practical portions of the examination shall be taken together.

(iii). In order to pass, a candidate must obtain at least 36 percent of the marks in each of the theoretical papers and 40 percent in the practical examination in 5 (a and b) above and he must obtain at least 40 percent in the aggregate of the total marks for both theoretical and practical portions of the examination separately.

If a candidate has pass in the compulsory subjects and in the practical examination, the marks in the excess of 36 obtained by him in the additional subjects if any, shall determine his class and his place in the list. Candidates obtaining at least 540 marks shall be declared to have obtained a First Class and those obtaining at least 360 marks shall be declared to have obtained a Second Class.

(iv). Candidates who pass the theoretical and the practical portions of the examination separately shall be declared to have pass the examination when they have passed.

If a student after completion of a regular course of study for the B.Ed. Examination does not register himself as a candidate for or present himself at or fails to pass any of the three examination immediately succeeding such completion, he may appear at any of the subsequent examinations provided he prosecuted a fresh course of study in a college affiliated for the purpose for at least six months and undergoes necessary practical training during the year immediately preceding the examination at which he desires to appear.

ADMISSION OF UNSUCCESSFUL AND ABSENTEE CANDIDATE

Candidates who fails to pass or present himself for the B.Ed Examination shall not be entitled to claim a refund of the examination fee nor will such fee be carried over for subsequent examination.

If a student after completion of regular course of study for the B.Ed Examination does not register himself as candidate for or present himself at the examination immediately succeeding such completion, he may appear at next examination as a regular candidate provided he had attended the percentage of lectures required for regular candidate. For any subsequent examination he will be treated as non-collegiate and will be required to pay the prescribed non-collegiate fees.
